This year's maths paper was unbelievably hard. Despite that, MOE reported that "this year’s paper was "comparable" to those of previous years. There is no change in syllabus, question types or number of questions." I only learnt this in secondary school... zzz
The fact that we, tertiary-level students, can't solve this question MENTALLY justifies that it's extremely tough for Primary 6 students.
The question is as follows:
"Jim bought some chocolates and gave half of it to Ken. Ken bought some sweets and gave half of it to Jim. Jim ate 12 sweets and Ken ate 18 chocolates. The ratio of Jim’s sweets to chocolates became 1:7 and the ratio of Ken’s sweets to chocolates became 1:4. How many sweets did Ken buy?"
The answer to the aforementioned would be 68. I wonder how many "A"s students are going to get the axe. Lets pray for moderation and their well-being. Best of luck.
